The FNPA was a proud sponsor of the 40th Annual Everglades Coalition conference! This year, the focus was to reflect on the progress that has been made towards Everglades restoration, while looking ahead at the opportunities that arise to improve the execution of the largest restoration project in the U.S.

The panels prompted important conversations such as the power of community, the importance of clean water in our economy, the use of traditional indigenous wisdom in modern science, and how climate change is impacting Everglades wildlife.

It was great to be surrounded by other organizations that are fighting to protect and preserve these beautiful spaces across the state of Florida. We remind each other that we are not alone in our mission to promote the importance of our natural landscape.

I had the idea to put out a poster board with questions such as “What does restoration mean to you?” and “What sparked your love for the outdoors?”.  FNPA Senior Program Coordinator, Claudia Murga, helped me with writing these questions, and they were displayed near our table. We were able to get a couple of great responses! Some of them are shown in the short video I created for Instagram.
